Picture a place where you can watch movies, laze in the pool, play video games, go rock climbing, shop for designer brands, and feast in more than a dozen high-end restaurants — all within minutes of the other. Sounds pretty special, right? Well, this place is coming to Sydney in December with Royal Caribbean’s Ovation of the Seas.
The US$1 billion Ovation of the Seas is still under construction in Germany and will be the newest, biggest and most advanced cruise ship ever to sail in Australian waters when she is deployed to Australia from December next year.
This class of ship is the mother of all cruise ships, accommodating up to 5,000 adventurers and 1,500 crew. It’s got a total of 18 decks, more than 1,500 balconies and a long list of entertainment features that includes a surf simulator, rock-climbing wall, sports court, video arcade, fitness centre, and an outdoor movie screen.
We checked her sister ship out, Anthem of the Seas, in New York late last year. And what an experience it was.
But if you really want to get a sense of all this ship has to offer, step onboard The North Star.
This jewel-shaped capsule will show you a whole new world when you step inside, revealing 360-degree views of the ocean and the Anthem of the Seas cruise ship, 300 feet above sea level.
The North Star is complimentary to all guests and the capsule can accommodate 14 guests at a time, so the whole family can enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience and take some pretty awesome photos (and selfies!) in the process.
