Arts and crafts meet street art in these nostalgic pop-up pieces

If you’re anywhere near Sweden at the moment, keep your eyes peeled, an artist is leaving trails of old-school pop culture around the streets.

Swedish artist Johan Karlgren (or PappasPärlors as Instagram instructs) is giving us major ’80s and ’90s feels with the pixilated icons that he’s leaving all over his local streets. Forget Netflix, we’re reliving our youth right now.

Karlgren is using that old favourite arts and crafts tool Perlerbeads to model characters like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Simpsons, Mario, and our favourite Pokemon.

Oh! A friendly reminder. My rapid growth in followers brought up some issues in earlier posts. This is MY instagram. Not a debate club. Lets say its my little dictatorship of love, where everyone should feel safe and welcome. That means Ive got no room whatsoever for racist/sexist/misogynist bullshit. If you cant stay away from that- get the fuck out. Love/ PP.

Stupid sexy Flanders. I’m freezing my butt off trying to get some extra shots for the 2018 PP calendar. Feels like I’m wearing nothing at all, nothing at all. #pappasparlor #pappaspärlor #pixelart #panduro #panduropyssel #stupidsexyflanders Ps. Link to the 2018 PP calendar can be found in my bio!
